Environmental destruction in Africa

The Infectious Smiles of AfricaHow to Be Happy: A Lesson on Happiness From an African Tribe

Summary

Degradation Is rising in Africa, the reason why is people are having too many children and the more people that we have in Africa the more their economy will go down. The more people that we have in Africa the more the resources that they have been using over the years would go down, for example, Seafood, Materials, Fuel, Timber, and Agricultural products. In the past year, the African population has been increasing way too much because of the population increasing the things that people should depend on will be decreasing. But there's a plan to stop this problem from increasing, the plan is for families to decrease the number of children they might want to have, it's better for the population because there are some species out there that are beginning to instinct. This plan is just starting right now and if it continues the economy would be better.

Analysis

I agree that Environmental destruction in Africa raises questions Because if people keep having children in the country it would obviously be overpopulated. The more people they have in the country the faster food would run out.  and it has already started  Seafood minerals fuel Timber and many others have already started running out and soon could be extinct.  if Africa is overpopulated because of food running out they could Go out of control because there's no food to be found which could lead to cannibalism or people would just die of hunger.

Discussion Question

Will Africa be able to decrease the population before it's too late?

When Is Hanukkah 2018?Tracing Hanukkah's U.S. Roots ... To Cincinnati? : NPRHanukkah | Hallmark Corporate Information

Most schools in the U.S. are mostly Christian and sometimes they would do Christian celebrations but sometimes there could be a Jews student in the class. The Jews student could feel a bit left out. Therefore, it's important to think about other students who are of a different religion.

For the religion of Judaism, Hanukkah is an eight-day celebration. The celebration starts at sundown and ends on the evening of December, 20. Hanukkah celebrates the rededication of the temple of Jerusalem after it was stolen by the Maccabees. The eight days symbolizes the number of days which the candles late. This important because there was only Enough oil for only one day, according to (newsobserver). The holidays revolve around using a menorah that has 8 little candle holders and every day they turn one on, unlit the 8 days ended.

Judaism :- Food

The topic we are going to talk about is what kinds of foods do Jews eat? What are they allowed to eat and what they cannot eat?

In Hinsdale Central's Quest food they don't serve adequate Jewish food. Maybe because the school is not aware of what do students of all religions eat so the school serves what they have on their menu. According to my research Jews are allowed to eat Kosher food. They cannot mix dairy and meat together. They only eat slaughtered meat. They can eat fish whose fins are detachable from the skin. Their dietary laws are written in the Torah. Jews have different kinds of cuisines like Sephardic Cuisine, Ashkenazic Cuisine, and Israeli Cuisine. The Jewish dietary laws are called Kashrut. Seven types of produce are wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranate, olives, and dates were also eaten in biblical times.

I think now the school should set up an extra counter or stall for Jews so that they can eat their traditional Jewish Kosher food so that they have more food options and they can enjoy their food. The school should make a form and distribute it to every student so that the school can know what do students eat from different religions and then the school should make arrangements according to that.

Based on my research I have written everything here. Now I would like to take from you all.

Thank you!

Islamic Holidays

Eid al-fitr

The situation that I am addressing is that schools and companies should have a better understanding what Eid is and how it unites muslims. It is also important that this day is seen as a federal public holiday since it is the last day of fasting from ramadan for a total of thirty days and it's a celebration of the fact that the muslims made it through the fasting. It's important to recognize the holiday since it's a huge celebration in the religion and due to that, it should in fact be marked as a holiday and have at least one day off from both schools and jobs. I also wanted to address that religions should be tought more and earlier in school because students don't get very educated on the subject and it's important for people to have an understanding of what Eid and Ramadan involves and what each holiday indicates and how the two holidays are connected so that they can have an insight of the way of living of the people who believe in other religions.

I would recommend making Eid a public holiday due to it's importance in the religion of Islam and the fact that it's important for other people to have knowledge about what it is and what it's about. According to BBC, the holiday called Eid was first celebrated by the prophet Muhammad with his friends and family when he had just won the battle called Jang-e-Badar. ]Muslims celebrate Eid once the first moon phase has appeared in the sky and it's also considered the last day of their fasting. Since it is their ending of ramadan, they are allowed to have their first day-time meal in thirty days and, for example, they usually celebrate by decorating their houses, dressing up in their best or new clothes, visiting the Mosque or streets for special services, etc.

Eid al-fitr is also celebrated to thank Allah (god) for helping them through the thirty days of fasting and for helping them during their practice of self control and it's also considered a time of forgiveness and making amends. Meaning that you do something good to show that you are sorry about something.

Judaism food

The problem is that Hinsdale central cafeteria does not have much proper food for Judaism.  It is probably because school didn't consider about that the student's dietary well because there are very few Judaism or the cost of buying and making these Judaism foods are high . According to the website: woodland junior, there are many rules about Judaism's dietary habit (Barrow). They can't eat the meat of ruminant and meat of from split hoof animals. About fish, they may eat fish which can separate scale and fins from fish skin. Also, they only eat the meat and fish coming from the animal slaughter by the Jewish way.

According to the situation now, I recommend school set an extra place in the cafeteria to put kosher food for Judaism students in order to let Judaism students have more food options. Besides,School can also provide more kinds of Judaism food during Judaism's holiday. Owing to that, I think school need to submit an application about providing some kosher meat and fish to Quest food service. In addition, School can also work with another company which provide kosher food.

Based on the Judaism 101, for the religion of Judaism, It is an important ability to "distinguish right and wrong, good and evil, pure and defiled, the scared and profane". The dietary laws are the call of holiness and it may also keep Jews body heath. For example, they don't eat camel's meat may because camels are more useful to be transportation. Although this reason maybe make sense, the main reason of theses injunctions is  because Torah claim that. Torah does not explain the reasons. Actually, for those transitional Jews, they do not need any reason. Furthermore, the dietary laws is important because tell people what they can eat and what they can't eat that can help people improve their ability of self-control. It requires Judaisms learn to control the most fundamental, original instinct.

Islamic holidays

                                    Islamic holidays

The reason for my proposal lies in explaining the meaning of Muslim holidays and to make respect for the religious traditions of students in U.S. schools. Since Islam is the second largest religion after Christianity, it is very important that we, as a country supporting all people, should include Muslim holidays and include a change in the student vacation policies.

I would recommend to choice the Ramadan holiday because celebrating this holiday does not greatly change the structure of vacations, but makes it possible for students to celebrate Ramadan during school year.

Ramadan remains a very important day for Muslims, they believes that during this month it is easier to do good things because the devils are chained in hell. People are trying to get rid of their bad habits and it is customary to read the Koran during this time.

Islamic-food

                                                                       Islamic food

The topic that I will be talking about today is Islamic food, Muslim people can only eat halal food they can not eat pork, its against their religion.

Some Muslim people can find this very hard, because pork can look like normal meat and they would not know if it is pork, because they might be at a friends house and they order pepperoni pizza, Muslim people might just eat it with out thinking or asking what type of meat it is. They cant also eat pork, because in the Quran it says Its forbidden to eat pork due to the worms that they say can be inside the pig.

I would like to change this by people at least making sure to tell and warn your muslim friends and if you see them eating something that you know is pork, just nicely warn them and tell them to be careful.

Jewish Food

The problem that I am addressing is that there is not as many options with cafeteria food for kids that are Jewish.

For the religion of Judaism, there are some really strict rules that they must follow that are about which food they cannot eat. According to primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk, Jews can only eat food that conform to Jewish law and they call that food 'Kosher'. They can't eat dairy or meat, no pork or pork products and shell fish.

Some meals that you could prepare for them here at Hinsdale Central are Shabbat challah, Bourekas, Potato Latkes and Couscous Royale. Some desserts or snacks that you could prepare are Rugelach, Hamantaschen,
Babka and Mandelbrot.

How Africans and African Americans added to American fashion

Here are some examples of how Africans and African Americans have added to American fashion:

  •  Active men’s suit

  •  Sportswear

  • Zoot suit

Zoot Suit

According to the article, a new style was created, the ‘New Negro’, a self defined, urban African-American. Free Black tailors were worn to establish a relaxed, sportier men’s suit. Sportier men’s suits were made for the need for a more active lifestyle. It was going against the British fashion.

                                                                    The 'New Negro' style

The article states that by the 1930's sportswear was North America’s biggest contribution to the western traditional fashion.

I think that African Americans added some good ideas to the American fashion and made the fashion better. As you look around in everyday fashion, you see how African Americans contributed to what we wear. I don’t like the fact that most companies did not give credit to African Americans. As stated in the article, very few fashion companies have publicly accredited their debt to African American people. I also feel that more people should know where those types of fashion actually came from.

What do you think about African American people not getting credit for something that they created and expanded?

What is the best way to give acknowledgment to African Americans and their contributions to fashion trends?

The slaughtering animal in Islam

A Humane Method of Animal Slaughter

Humane Halal & Kosher Kind | Mercy In Slaughter

The Spruce Eats

  • Muslims are taught through the Qu'ran that all animals should be treated with respect and be well cared for. Therefore the goal in halal-style butchery is to slaughter the animal in a manner which will limit the amount of pain the animal will endure.
  • When an animal is slaughtered, the jugular vein is cut and the blood is allowed to drain from the animal.
  • The animal must also be given food and water prior to being slaughtered, must not be suffering from any ailments, and it must be made sure that no other animal can be witness to the slaughter the knife used needs to be very sharp and four time the size of then neck of the animal that is to be cut .
  • In addition, since pork is forbidden, the slaughtering cannot be practiced where pigs are slaughtered.
  • The advice you give to provide food for Muslims is to slaughter meat in halal terms or to distribute food to Muslims without meat .
  • It is important to do that because this thing is forbidden. We must follow what is forbidden in our religion

Christianity: †Holidays†

Christmas
Christmas is celebrated on December 25th, or January 7th according to the old Julian calendar, but what do these numbers mean?
The name of the holiday comes from the word "Birth", which suspects the birth of a son of God, baby Jesus in Bethlehem.

Let's move on to history:
<< The traditional Christmas narrative, the Nativity of Jesus, delineated in the New Testament says that Jesus was born in Bethlehem, in accordance with messianic prophecies. [When Joseph and Mary arrived in the city, the inn had no room and so they were offered a stable where the Christ Child was soon born, with angels proclaiming this news to shepherds who then further disseminated the information. >>

The True Story of Christmas and Jesus | Awakening Times

An interesting and captivating story. However, it should be borne in mind that this holiday is celebrated not only by religious people but also at the legislative level, by ordinary people. Often accompanied by gift-giving, Christmas music and a tree, carols, and so on.

I believe that it is necessary for this to be heard because Christmas is a holiday that should bring everyone closer, unite into one whole, at school in the days approaching, and on Christmas day, a holiday atmosphere should reign!

Islamic Food

Islam Food (Halal & Haram)

The situation that I am addressing is that the Hinsdale Central High School isn't giving many food options that meet with religious dietary guidelines of Islam.

I would recommend for the religion of Islam that Hinsdale Central High School should start giving various options of food and taking consideration that there is more than one religion in the school and that there are specific food diets to each religion. According to (Primary Homework Help) Muslims  will eat only permitted food (halal) and will not eat or drink anything that is considered forbidden (haram). Food options should include falafel, shawarma . Muslims also eat chicken, For side dishes they can eat hummus but they cant eat eat any kinds of pork products, or animal meat that was not prepared right.

Islamic Food

According to this website The Spruce Eats Muslims can only eat halal meats and poultry, halal means permitted or lawful, it's slaughtered meat or poultry by the name of Allah. They can eat all kinds of seafood, fruits, and vegetables but they can't eat pork or products containing pork, for example, pork gelatin that is found in treats and snacks. Also, they are not allowed to drink alcohol or eat food that contains alcohol.

Hinsdale Central High School's Cafeteria wants to take my advice about food that they sell, and does it provide Islamic food or not. The situation is that in the Cafeteria they sell chicken tenders and burgers and I don't think it's halal so I would like the Cafeteria to provide some halal meals. In some meals, in the Cafeteria, they put bacon or pork in it and it doesn't appear clear that much to the student.

I would recommend the Cafeteria to tell students that this meal contains pork or bacon or they can just add a sticker on the meal by writing what does this meal contains. I don't want to make it hard for the school because I know that it's kind of difficult to tell each Muslim student what does this meal contains so I would recommend the Cafeteria to stick a sticker on the meal labeling what ingredients are in it and the problem will be solved.

For the religion of Islam, it is important to make sure that Muslims are not eating any foods that they are not allowed to eat, so we have to be careful and we have to provide meals that they eat.

How Could Food be Changed in Schools for Judaism

The situation I'm addressing is that Jews can't eat everything Christians eat and I wanna help schools to know what they can do to have food for every religion. I am reaching out to the schools principles that Jews has a different kind of food selection than Christians. Jews can eat meat but they can't eat animals that are rabbit or hare, pig, horse, dog or cat they also eat fish fins and scales if they're detached from the body.

According to Primary Homework Help Many Jews can't eat what Christians eat. Many religions have different types of rules. I would suggest the school's to keep in mind that there are different types of religions and in different religions people eat differently. For example Jews can't eat certain types of meats. School's should really look into it so kids wouldn't have problems whit that. I would recommend the school to quiz how many kids are from what religion to know what kinds of foods they can eat and there wouldn't be problems there. If school's would do that it would be easier for all the different types of religion kids. Also parents would not be stress about getting their kids food they can eat but can't in school.

Christian Holidays

Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of jesus Christ who Christians belive is the son of god The name of Christmas comes from the mass of christ (or jesus) A mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that jesus died for us and then came back to life.

Christmas is a holiday the happens in the snowy season.

Christmas is a important holiday for christians because it is the day that jesus was born it is a joy holiday because friends and cousins comeover and they get gifts from eachother and  it  makes peace between others and its on a snowy season.

And acording to (Dummies) its a second important holiday for christians first important holiday is easter because it the day jesus will come back.

And the solution is that the principal should make this be heard in school so the school would be more active in school because its a day to have fun and feel free and safe.

clothing for Islam

The situation that I am addressing is that companies try to modernize & professionalize their employee handbooks, provide recommendations as to the type of clothing, grooming, and jewelry. The companies should consider allowing to respect Muslims preferences of religious Islamic clothing.

For the religion of Islam the rule that the Quran provides us as Muslim women to  dress in modesty; the word hijab (حجاب) means "cover," "screen," or "curtain,"and refers to both a specific form of veil worn by some Muslim women and the modest Islamic style of dress  in general such as a Jalbab . Muslim women are required  to observe the hijab in front of any man they could theoretically marry.

For men: The thobe is a long robe worn by Muslim men. The top is usually like a shirt, but it is ankle-length and loose. It is usually white, but may also be found in other colors, especially in winter.

 Why christians waer a cross?

Cross is a symbol of christian religion which represents crucifixtion of Jesus Christ and his benefits of his passion and death. Cross is a sign of Christ himself and the faith of Christians. In ceremonial usage, cross may be, according to the context, an act of profession of faith, a prayer, a dedication, or a benediction.

There are four types of the cross:

the crux quadrata, the crux immissa, the crux commissa, the crux decussata.

Cross  is worn by Christians to remind themselves of Christ's passion and the event which saved us from eternal damnation and to witness to and evangelize others. Christians wear crosses to identify themselves as Christians. You can wear a Christian cross if you want, no one will stop you, but it probably won't protect you and people will think you identify as a Christian. Cross, the principal symbol of the Christian religion, recalling the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the redeeming benefits of his Passion and death. The cross is thus a sign both of Christ himself and of the faith of Christians. And some of the people like my family are saying that it is bad to wear cross if your not in a church because its gonna bring you a bad luck

 Giraffes now rarer than elephants

Giraffes are the tallest animals in the world. In 1985, there were between 151,000 and 163,000 giraffes. But in 2015 the number was down to 97,562. The giraffe population has shrunk nearly 40 percent in just 30 years. The giraffe is the only mammal whose status changed on the list. Scientists are blaming habitat loss."Everyone assumes giraffes are everywhere," said Fennessy. Fennesy is the co-director of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. But they're not, Fennessy said. Until recently, biologists hadn't done a good job assessing giraffes' numbers and where they can be found. The giraffes have been lumped into one broad species instead of nine separate subspecies.

Why some hurricanes linger

Hurricane Jose is pushing the two-week mark as it meanders off the U.S. East Coast.Harvey formed and then it died. And then it came back to life as a major hurricane. This hurricane season is showing how wild and varied storms' life cycles can be.Most storms seem to be tracked for days while others appear to pop out of nowhere. And some just linger around.

Health of world's last male northern white rhino in decline

The health of the world's last male northern white rhino has gotten worse. This brings the rhino subspecies a step closer to extinction caused by poaching. The 45-year-old rhino is named Sudan. He is listed as "The Most Eligible Bachelor in the World."He lives with the last two female northern white rhinos.Sudan appeared to recover well from an infection that developed on his back right leg. That was at the end of 2017.Sudan arrived at Ol Pejeta from a Czech zoo in 2009. He came with the females, Najin and Fatu. They came along with a second male from the same subspecies that has since died.African rhinos remain under intense pressure from poachers who kill them to meet demand for their horns in illegal markets. There are about 5,000 critically endangered black rhinos. In Asia, the greater one-horned rhino species has been recovering and has a population of several thousand.
